Day 366/366 - The End 12/31/2012
Well, I did it. I took a photo a day, every day, for the year 2012. I wanted to give up so many times… but I’m so glad I kept going. I can look back at all of these photos and recall all of the memories from that particular day. Some of them may be pretty bland and some of them may be pretty amazing. The occasional food runs, the parties, the hangouts, the concerts, the car meets, the bonfires, and, most importantly, the time spent with family. My brother, Robin, my cousins, Beverlyn and JC, graduated from high school and started college. My dad made the decision to stay in the US with the family to work, instead of moving somewhere far away to make twice what he does now. My grandpa turned 90. My Lola Oding passed away. My mom survived breast cancer. The birth of my (soon-to-be) godson. All of the time spent with my family made my year… and all of the time spent in between with my friends made it awesome. Especially, the most #upset group of friends I have. The Bakas. #brohonestly. Mark, James, Dface, Drew, Alex, Mary, and Bea. Along with Aaron and Mae, who I met this year! Charles, Tom, Danielle, Angel, Leilani, and Roniza. My distant best friend from Chicago, Mina. My carpool buddies, San Marcos friends and my ading. Lance, Andy, Alex, and Alyssa. I even spent a lot of time with my brother’s best friends as well! Ardreen, Ryan, and Katie. They may have moved away for school or were too busy working a job or were too busy spending time with their significant other… but they always had the time to catch up and hang out every now and then. My friends… they kept my year exciting. Spontaneous hangouts. LAN parties. Life bets. Photo shoots. They have, in a way, become characters this year. Characters in an incredibly awkward story involving a 19-turned-20-year-old young man and his camera. Honestly, I’m at a loss for words. I cannot express just how thankful I am for having these people in my life. I originally started this photography project to become a better photographer. I wanted to get better at taking photos. I didn’t realize that I also become a much better brother, son, friend, student and an overall person. I focused on keeping with my New Year’s resolutions. I’m so happy I accomplished them. I told myself that I would finally go to my first concert. I went to 9 concerts, including a music festival. I told myself to focus on school. I managed boost my GPA… a lot. I told myself to keep with this photography project, no matter what… and I did. I worked so hard this year and looking back… I wouldn’t change a single thing. I definitely do not know what 2013 will hold for me but I am really looking forward to sharing it with my family and friends. Thank’s to Tom for snapping this last photo of the year for me! I spent my last day of 2012 with my good friends Tom and Danielle. Now I’m gonna spend the night celebrating with my family! :D
This is also, more or less, a goodbye. A goodbye to tumblr. I intended to leave a long time ago but I wanted to keep people updated with my project. Now, I don’t have any initiative to keep this blog alive. Unless I start another 365 Project. But that probably won’t happen… or would it? Don’t be surprised if you see me reblogging or liking things every now and then. To my followers (yes, all 5 of you /sarcasm) I’d like to thank you for keeping up with my project and most importantly my interests. If you’d like to keep in touch at all, send me a message! I’m not that active on social networking sites. I use Instagram, so you can follow me there @harveyAM. I also use twitter more often. You can follow me there too @theharveyAM.
Again, thank you!
